Your first design job
I’ve been receiving a lot of questions about landing a job without ‘experience’

The reality is, unless you’re a bit of a unicorn designer, you’re not going to land the perfect job as a junior.
This post assumes that you’re already giving your career your best shot. Launching side projects and freelancing whenever you can. Building experience wherever possible.
When you’re applying for your first job, no one wants to hire someone with zero experience. That’s the reality we live in.
So lower your expectations.
The job might not be exactly what you’re looking for, but it’s still something.
Something is better than nothing.
No one is telling you to stay there forever.
Stick around for 6, 12 or 24 months. Learn everything you can.
Once you plateau, move on. But this time you’ll already have experience under your belt, making your application process 2x easier.
Just remember, every new job you land becomes easier and easier.
