📱 8 tips to mobile tabs ⁣ ⁣- By: @zanderwhitehurst - 👊 Mobile tabs are powerful. They are easily mistaken for mobile navigation. The major difference is position and expectation. Tabs are organised into relatable views, whereas mobile navigation users expect different pages.⁣ ⁣ ☝️ Keep your mobile tabs up top. 40px in height is traditional and they should rest above each view. A nice interaction when scrolling is to hide and reveal when a user scrolls up. ⁣ ⁣ ✍️ There is plenty of debate on this one, so personally I prefer text labels in tabs. They are legible and I think the text vs icon tab denotes this. Never leave your users guessing! ⁣ ⁣ 👀 Consistency is crucial in tabs. Avoid a festival of tab options and keep everything aligned. ⁣ ⁣ 👉 When it comes to mobile design you are limited in real estate. Don’t shed away from scrolling tabs. When designed properly these are brilliant.
