Data Visualisation 3 Principles
Data Visualisation - Top Three Principles (Source: Google Material) . 1. Accuracy πŸ”Ž Prioritize data accuracy, clarity, and integrity, presenting information in a way that doesn’t distort it. . 2.Helpful πŸ‘ Help users navigate data with context and affordances that emphasize exploration and comparison. . 3.Scalability πŸ— Adapt visualizations for different device sizes, while anticipating user needs on data depth, complexity, and modality. . I had an eye-opening experience reading aboout Google Material's Guidelines to Data Visualisation. πŸ‘€ The guide laid out all the different use cases for the various design choices of data. . The most interesting learning point was how the Elements of Art 🎨 (Shape, Colour, Line, Area, Size, Position, Density etc..) is used to represent Qualitative and Quantitative Data. πŸ”¬ . And this process is called "Visual encoding" - the process of translating data into visual form. πŸ•΅οΈβ€β™€οΈ . What are some principles you live by for Data Visualisation? . It'd be great if you could send me some examples of awesome Data Viz! βœ‹ . Source: Google Material Data Visualization Guide
